Highlights for me were trips to Asia both for business and pleasure. On the pleasure trip took 3 weeks off work (no work email, no conference calls, no blackberry) - it was long enough that I didn't even dread returning to work. Amazing! The four of us reconnected, lazing around Asian beaches, visited lots of old friends and colleagues, but never enough time to visit with everyone. (read more about all that on my trip blog)
Dove in at the deep end with Web 2.0. For the uninitiated that is the term for the collection of new internet tools that facilitate easier connections between people on the internet, i.e. such things as blogs (like this card), social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, etc and much more.
Come visit me in Facebook! Now multi-tasking even more than before.
Daniel has been my teacher and guide along the way, but now informs me that this Christmas card idea is "over the top".
Hope you like it and have some fun trying out new things too. I'm working on the principle that "if you learn new tricks, you won't turn into an old dog"!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Lynn

Hi Family Krausteads,
You have really brought Christmas Cards to a higher level. I really appreciate the idea and we as Family Svensson need to lift our cards one more notch to match your level. Look forward to next year.
Looks like you had an awesome vacation in SE Asia. We are also longing back for something similar. The question is only how to find the time to do it.
Regarding getting older ... and wiser. Today I physically reached 46 (but mentally still 29 ;-) ), I agree we need to do everything to keep up our youth.
- Music (tick in the box) we are fine comparing Jacob's and Sophia's tastes.
- Technology (tick in the box) Luckily I am in the mobile business where we do mobile blogging through some fantastic Sony Ericsson products like the 5MPix K850i camera phone (managed some commercial there as well).
- Fitness and maintaining a little healthy craziness (tick in the box) Jacob and I are off to a heli-skiing week in BC Canada in February. Check out www.pantheonheli.com/ We will be doing mobile blogging to keep the remaining family calm - if we have GSM coverage in the area. We will keep you posted as well in such case.
We would love to host you when you are coming to Europe.
Munich is a fantastic area so hopefully we still will be here when you come.
All the best to all of you!

I like it, Lynn! Nice job on the page design. Hope we see you before Christmas (especially since we have all your presents from Mom!) -molly
Great job Lynn. You are a marvel.
Merry Christmas Lynn to you and your family. I do hope we will be able to connect New Year and see each other if you come to Toronto or I visit Houston. It has been a while and time travels too quickly. All the best for 2008. G.
Hi Lynn and family,
Such an advance Christmas Card for the year I've received so far!!! Can tell which function you are ^o^. Would love to see you sometimes, do give me a call if you come to KL. Take care!

Lynn, Grat job. Thanks for keeping me on your list.
Will be missing your snail mail.
Merry Christmas Lynn & Company,
It was fantastic to see you and Kip after these so many years. Who would have thunk' that we'd run into each other at a VB tourney!
...'bout the web-site, it's nice and all, but, I'm going to side with Daniel. I like the snail-mail that filled my mailbox in the past. First, it was always addressed to just me (ye-ah, I need to feel special). And secondly, it has always provided me your current address. BTW, please send me your current address so I can get my Christmas cards mailed out! (LOL!)
The bottom line, it's always great to be in touch with you no matter what the format or media. Love Ya's. Have a wonderful New Year!

Hey Lynn! Thanks for your card! We never seem to send Christmas cards anymore. But really appreciate getting them.
We are up to our ears in snow. Al is in Australia all week and I am supposed to go out on our ice and snow covered roof and clear off the snow so the gutters can get unblocked (we are getting leakage because the ice has dammed up the usual runoff paths). I can't bring myself to go out on our roof.
Am pretty envious of the sunshine and dry ground in your photos.
Can't wait to see all of you this summer.
Love,
Mary
Hi Lyn,
I took up your challenge and hey, guess what? Here I am.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and family. Hope to see you again sometime next year. Take care.
Hi Lynn and Family,
Happy Holidays to you! Love the idea of a blog Christmas Card, although a small part of me misses the paper cards.
We started a blog when we moved to Budapest to keep our families up-to-date on our lives. If you want to check it out is at www.salvaggiofamily.blogspot.com.
Talk to you in 2008!
Anna
Hi Lynn (and family)...
Wow - A simple yet practical scenario of adopting technology into our (daily) lives. And it works! Thanks for sharing!
Wishing you and your family, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Hi all,
what a great idea to share Christmas greetings. We all love new technologies and I guess it was fun to explore it and the outcome is perfect. In a way better than just cards as we can read more and see also more pictures. What would we all do without Internet and E-Mails nowadays.
We wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy New year. Hope we have a chance to see each other next year. Take care and enjoy the holidays.
Kisses and lots of love, Dagmar and Volker from Germany
Lynn,
This is awesome, but I would have expected no less from you!
Hope you all have a blessed Christmas and very Happy New Year!
Much love, Karen
Hi Lynn, Kip and children -
Cool card ... I've been away with no technology available so just getting to it now. In time for X'Mas!!
Happy holidays and a GREAT 2008.
Hallo Lynn,
das ist der 2. Versuch:
Nette Idee.

I love it! The challenge is on for next year for me to give up my snail mail cards! Great site! Ok, I'm just now reading after new years, but was camping over the holidays in South Texas. Happy new year to all of you!
Hi Lynn & Kip,
Happy New Year! I've been spending a couple of weeks at my parents' place in Bandung, where dial-up connection (shudder) stopped me from using internet altogether, thus the late New Year greeting.
Yoga & I are back in Jakarta now, and if all goes well, will move on to Perth, Australia in a couple of months. So, you can list down that place as your next possible holiday location! :)
-Judith & Yoga-
Finally got around to signing in! Nearly didn't leave a message as I haven't done anything nearly as exciting as everyone else, but have had a wonderful Christmas with the family. Back to work today though! Great idea but not quite the same as opening a card!!
Best wishes for 2008. Love to all
Paula xx
Happy New Year Lynn/Kip and kids,
Actually I did post my comment on Dec 21 but seems didn't work, Ha Ha Ha.
I really like your blog especially young couple pictures. Believe it's never been too late to wish all the best to you and your family for a healthy, wealthy and happy family life thru 2008....
Take Care,
Toom - Greeting from BKK
Happy New Year to you all, Lynn, Kip, Heidi and Daniel,
We seem to have adopted the Belgian tradition of continuing the exchange of best wishes into January; having also adopted the Danish tradition of celebrating December as the Christmas month this makes for a long festive season. No complaints!
Thank you for putting together your Christmas e-Card (it looks really great, though a little hard to hang up alongside the traditional ones), and thank you too for filling it with family news and especially pictures. Hoping our paths may indeed cross again soon,
Love from Hilary, Helge, Julia and William
Julia: Greetings from me as well. The place mats Daniel and Heidi once made for William and me are still in the tablecloth drawer. I bet you don't remember making them for the time we came for the Thanksgiving dinner at your house in Leefdaal!
Lynn and Family
You make me feel so inadequate and anachronistic - I have never used EBay, Facebook or MySpace, I have never blogged or Instant Messaged, I am slow at sending text messages and have never downloaded a music file (in fact I still use vinyl records) or recorded a DVD. I wasn't organised enough to send you any kind of Christmas card and now Lynn, you remember to send me a nice Birthday message today. Thanks. I will send you an e-mail soon!! Got to go and help cook the dinner...
Love
Steve
Hi Lynn, Kip and family
I can see that the new slim-line 8-month year will soon be nearly over and we'll still be commenting here! As you know Petra and I were in Cape Town over the holidays so didn't get much internet time in, hence the comment only now.
Well done on the new format. I'm a real gadget and techno-crazy guy, but time in difficult Nigeria is stunting my growth! If someone sends me a moderate-sized 3MB photo by email, it tends to wobble my email inbox and take up to 12 minutes to download! How I long to live again in a world of broadband speed! My only personal refusal to go hi-tech is my cellphone. It was such a struggle to get it down to a small size that didn't bother me in my pocket, so why go back to bulky things that can do 50 other tasks. I can phone, send text messages and even set an alarm clock! What more do I need? And I have a separate camera that takes fantastic photos (with 12x zoom and 48x digital zoom), and that's all it does!
Anyhow, lovely to stay in contact - see my latest photos on facebook. After your Asian sojourn, I'm sure you are ready for an African safari - NOT Nigeria, but maybe Cape Town and Namibia - when we are there of course!
Much love to all
Alan (and in abstentia still in Cape Town, Petra)
